01 · Identity System
Identity: mark, wordmark, lockup
The identity has three parts: the Symbol (Converge Star), the Wordmark (Omninal with its blue period), and the Lockup that combines them. Four blue petals sweep in from the corners; the negative space between them forms a four-point star — four product entrances converging on one architecture, every payment settling on a single point. Inside the mark, the period ascends into the settled point — so the lockup never repeats it: when the mark is present, the period is not; when the wordmark stands alone, the period returns.
Symbol
The Converge Star
Four petals = four product entrances; the four-point star in the negative space = the settled point; the outer silhouette reads as an O — Omninal's initial, and the aperture of a vault. Used alone for app icons, avatars, favicons, and watermarks.
Omninal.
Wordmark
Omninal, with the period
Capital O, weight 800, letterspacing −3%, closed by a blue period — "every payment settles," typeset. Used alone in running text, email signatures, and monochrome media; the period appears only when the wordmark stands alone.
Omninal
Lockup
Mark + wordmark
The default public form: mark on the left, wordmark on the right, no period. Proportion and spacing are locked by the master file (lockup-primary.svg) — never re-space by eye, never rebuild by hand.
The mark: construction and meaningThe Mark — a star made by convergence
One shape, three layers of meaning
- Four blue petals = four product entrances — identical shapes in a 90° array
- The negative-space star = the settled point — the period, ascended
- The outer silhouette reads as an O — Omninal's initial / a vault's aperture
- Never rotate: at 45° the star becomes an ✕, and settlement reads as error
Rules: the mark is finished geometry, not illustration material — only proportional scaling and the official colorways (brand blue / white / carbon / the radial gradient) are allowed. No rotation, mirroring, petal reshaping, or single petals used alone. The negative-space star may never be extracted as a standalone graphic. The mark carries its own clear space (25% canvas margin); in tight compositions add another quarter of the mark's height beyond the artwork's true edge.
The wordmark: construction and clear spaceWordmark — when it stands alone, the period stands with it
Rules: the O is always capital — it carries both the proper noun and the O-as-ring, the closed global loop. The period sits on the baseline and may only be brand blue (Omninal Blue #155DFC on light, Sky #6E9BFF on dark). Monochrome media use the mono version. Nothing may ever follow the period.

Lockup construction · horizontal masterLockup Construction — the one default public form; every dimension derives from H (cap height)
Three hard rules: ① Mark on the left, wordmark on the right — proportion (mark = 1.2 × cap height) and gap (0.16 H) are locked by lockup-primary.svg; never re-space by eye. ② Inside the lockup the wordmark carries no period — the settled point already lives in the mark's negative space, and two blue focal points would compete. ③ Clear space ≥ one quarter of the mark's height on all sides; nothing, including the page edge, may intrude.

Stacked lockupSquare spaces: badges, poster corners, above QR codes, centered covers
Omninal
Mark height 2.2 H, gap 0.5 H, the whole horizontally centered; clear space and minimums match the horizontal lockup (stacked is only permitted at total height ≥ 64px). Horizontal is the default — stack only when horizontal will not fit.
The gradient mark · HaloRadial #87ACFF → #155DFC — two contexts only
Allowed: ① the app icon / avatar during marketing seasons; ② large-scale marks on marketing cover art. Never: inside the lockup, in running text, in product UI, or at any size below 48px — the gradient collapses into noise when small.
Which form, whereThe decision table — this table is the arbiter
| Context | Form | Colorway | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site navigation · footer · document headers/footers | Horizontal lockup | Primary on light / Reversed on dark | Mark height ≥ 16px |
| Deck & report covers · published material | Horizontal lockup | Mapped to background (stacked allowed when centered) | Lockup height ≥ 32px |
| Product UI sidebar / top bar | Horizontal lockup; mark only below 120px width | Primary | Mark height ≥ 16px |
| App icon · favicon · social avatar | Mark (on a filled square) | Navy ground default / gradient in marketing seasons | ≥ 16px |
| Watermark · corner sign-off | Mark | Mono at 6–10% opacity | ≥ 24px |
| Mentions in running text · email signatures | Wordmark (live text, never an image) | Body color + blue period | Follows body text |
| Embroidery · engraving · fax and other mono media | Mono lockup; mono wordmark when too small | Carbon or White | Stitch height ≥ 12mm |
| Co-branding | Lockup × partner identity | Both mono, or each in its standard color | Equal heights |
Priority: when space allows, the lockup always wins; degrade to the mark when it does not; use the wordmark in text-only settings. The mark and a period-bearing wordmark never share a layout — there is only one settled point.
Background × colorway mappingRead the table, apply it — measured contrast lives in the Color chapter's matrix
| Background | Mark | Wordmark text | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| White · Paper, light grounds | Brand blue | Ink Navy | Default Primary (lockup-primary.svg) |
| Navy · Carbon, dark grounds | Brand blue (graphic contrast 3.7:1) | White | Reversed; go all-white over very dark photography |
| Brand blue ground | White | White | All white — Navy text is forbidden here |
| Black-and-gold (Carbon + Gold) | White | White | Gold is a supporting text color only — never on the identity |
| Photography / busy grounds | All white over darkened areas | Otherwise place a white card, then Primary | Text contrast ≥ 4.5:1 |
| Red and other strong color grounds (festive posters) | White | White | Mono white on all color grounds — the mark does not turn blue |
| Single-color print · fax · engraving | Carbon / White | Match the mark | Never simulate blue with halftone dots |
The mark as avatarApp icon, favicon, social — the O. monogram is retired
Spec: a filled square (Navy default / brand blue / white in light contexts / radial gradient in marketing seasons), corner radius = 24% of the side, artwork at 58% of the side, centered. The four-petal structure stays legible at 16px — which is exactly why it replaced the O. monogram. The old monogram is archived in brand-assets/deprecated/ and may not be used in new work.

Co-brandOmninal×Partner
Lockup rules: the product name follows the full lockup (no period), set in Slate, weight 650, at 72% of the master wordmark size — never colored, never given a period of its own. Separators: a line break when stacked, a hairline vertical when horizontal. Co-branding uses «×» with both identities at equal height, gap = half the mark height, Omninal on the left. Forbidden: designing standalone product logos, coloring product names, fusing the mark with a partner's graphic into a new shape, or abbreviating Omninal to OMN in public.
Special mediaThe standard's edge cases
Very small sizes · favicon 16px
The mark stays legible at 16px — use it directly for favicons and other tiny contexts (this site's browser tab is the live example). At or below 24px, lockups and wordmarks are forbidden.
Monochrome media · embroidery / engraving / fax
OmninalAlways the Mono lockup (Carbon or White); never simulate blue with halftones. Minimum stitch height 12mm — below that, switch to the mono wordmark (period included).
